It was in the 1970s that the American Noton Company made an improvement on the ordinary rectangular saddle ring packing, changed the fan-shaped cambered surface into the zigzag shape, and added the opening in the saddle back, so that the channel in the packing layer is more smooth, improved the liquid distribution performance, reduced the resistance of gas through, and improved the mass transfer performance. Different saddle ring plastic saddle type packing is similar to saddle shape, this packing layer is mainly arc liquid channel, the gap in the packing layer is more continuous than the ring packing (especially compared with the Rasi ring packing).
● Plastic saddle ring packing has the characteristics of large voidage, low pressure drop and mass transfer unit height, high flooding point, full vapor liquid contact, small specific gravity, high mass transfer efficiency, low pressure, large flux, high efficiency, large load elasticity, good pollution resistance and so on. Widely used in petroleum, chemical, chlor-alkali, gas, environmental protection and other industries in the packed tower, such as dewaxed oil refining extraction, demethanation, benzene anhydride refining.
● Plastic different saddle ring is the improvement of the moment saddle ring. It is characterized by improving the fan-shaped cambered surface into a shell shaped cambered surface with serrated edge, and adding openings to make the internal and external surface of the packing communicate, increase the free channel of fluid, which is conducive to the liquid distribution and surface renewal, so it has higher handling capacity than the moment saddle ring, and the performance of pressure drop and small mass transfer is improved. It is generally made of ceramic and plastic.
